As the welcome letter to incoming DCC students said, DCC is here.
Yup. School is starting up again, beginning with move-in later this week, and classes soon after. It is hard to believe that a 20 hour a week GA-ship can be so exciting, but I am really looking forward to what we will do this year. You see, I get to have structured play with our new students, around areas that interest both me and, hopefully, the students.
Digital cultures for me is the ability to make institutional and structural inequalities visible (read my bio for more specifics), and I look forward to exploring these ideas with people who may not have thought about technologies in this way before- I’m sure I will learn as much as they will.
